Build a 1959 Les Paul®
These are not based on just some run-of-the-mill guitar, but on a beautiful original 1959 Gibson® Les Paul® Standard Burst.

We're lucky to work with the most incredible guitars on the planet. We've been meticulously measuring every inch, curve, and detail to bring you these incredibly accurate routing templates. With these high quality templates you'll build one of the most revered guitars ever made.

Built to vintage specs
We sweat all the details—from the size and shape of the routs, to the bridge placement, to the wiring channels, it's all there! We went the extra mile and made perfectly curved arching templates for the top. The top curve of the Les Paul® has changed a number of times over the years, and this set matches the vintage-correct contours exactly.

We've also made a separate template to accurately rout for P-90 pickups for an earlier Les Paul® sound. Each template is available separately or as a set:

2375 Full Template Set
Includes body (set of 2), neck (set of 2), and arching templates (set of 5)

2372 Body Set
Includes two full sized templates with body shape, neck mortise, control and switch cavities (including cover plates), wiring channel, humbucker pickup cavities, jack, and bridge and tailpiece location

2373 Neck Set
Includes two full sized neck templates with side profile, tenon, headstock, and nut location

2374 Top Arch Set
Includes 5 templates to dial in every angle of the iconic carved top

2364 Option For '56 P-90 Template
Includes template for routing both the neck and bridge pickup cavities for two P-90 pickups. These measurements were based on a '56 Les Paul Goldtop.

Get precision cuts every time
We recommend using Double-stick Tape to keep the templates in place. Align the body template's centerlines with those drawn on your wood and tape in place. The Bosch Colt Router and Router Bits make it easy to get clean and precise cuts.
