Clay Dot
Fretboard inlay dots for the early '60s Fender look. Cream-colored Corian® duplicates the distinctive look of old Fender position markers.
They're great for restorations and for making your instrument look more authentic. Reliably consistent 1/4" (6.35mm) diameter, approximately .060" (1.5mm) thick, and ready to inlay. Sold individually.
We also offer matching clay side dots for the edge of the fingerboard.
A little history: Clay position dots were first used by Fender in 1959, with the introduction of rosewood fingerboards on their instruments. Clay dots were discontinued in early 1965 and replaced by slightly larger 9/32" (7.14mm) pearloid dots.
Tip: We recommend epoxy or super glue for installing all our inlays.
Inlay filler colors can be mixed with epoxy for matching ebony and rosewood.
