StewMac Kerfing Clamps, Set of 10
Small and strong, perfect for gluing kerfed linings.
StewMac’s Production Manager, Todd Sams, swears by these clamps for building his Sams Guitars. "They're stronger than other spring clamps, and way better than clothespins," he says.
The jaws fit over angled kerfed linings perfectly, and fit most curved/reverse kerfing, too. The strong grip keeps its tension and won't twist like cheaper versions.
We recommend one clamp every 1 to 2 inches, so it takes 50 to 60 clamps to glue the top or back kerfings on a 000 or Dreadnought.
- 2" long, 1/2" wide (50.8mm x 12.7mm)
- Jaws open to 11/16" (17.46mm)
- Set of 10 clamps
Have you tried similar clamps and the protective rubber tip eventually slides off? Our clamps have a hole in the metal tip so the dipped covering flows through and the tip stays on!
Stronger than they look—if the metal part of the clamp contacts wood, it could leave a light indent. Generally this doesn't matter, since this wood is removed while sanding and when you rout for binding. Put binding tape where the metal meets the wood to avoid this altogether.
